Insurance Fraud: Billion Dollar Crime

Did you know insurance fraud (crimes such as staged accidents, false auto glass repair claims, false medical claims, and auto theft to name a few) costs U.S. taxpayers $80 – $100 Billion annually?

In Arizona, insurance fraud alone is adding approximately $180 to each citizens insurance premiums annually.

Time spent solving insurance crimes and recovering property costs every person living in Arizona $107/year.

Insurance Fraud is often though of as a victim-less crime when in fact it makes us all victims financially and can cause emotional and physical trauma to those who are involved.

Thanks to the the Arizona Department of Insurance Fraud Unit, Arizona Auto Theft Authority and the National Insurance Crime Bureau many of these insurance crimes are stopped in their tracks. Suspects charged with felony’s. Property and business returned to it’s rightful owners.

Experts from the Arizona Department of Insurance Fraud Unit, Arizona Auto Theft Authority and the National Insurance Crime Bureau educate members of the insurance industry brought together by the Arizona Insurance Institute and the Independent Agents and Brokers of Arizona about insurance fraud on November 10th, 2016 at Rio Salado College.
